Founding SDHEC PTSA Parents
The students depend on parents and
interested community members to provide help at dances, games, and
sporting events.
They also supervise student fundraisers and events and help support their
teen’s graduation activities. For
example, the freshman parents recently supervised selling snacks at a football
game and with the their help, the freshman class raised over $1,000 in just a few
hours! In addition, parents can have fun chaperoning student dances and
other activities while making new friends.
PTSA supports the parents through a strong public relations publications such as
the PTSA Handbook. It also supports the Parent Center and Parent Advocacy
where parents have a forum to address issues important to them. PTSA has
ties to San Diego City
School Parent Congress which provide parents information about district
reform efforts, academic achievement of students and other educational
issues.
